‘MALTESE? … YES AND PROUD
OF IT’ - A SHORT COURSE FOR MALTESE EMIGRANTS ON
HOLIDAY IN MALTA
The Directorate for Lifelong
Learning within the Ministry of Education,
Culture, Youth and Sport, is organizing a short
course about Maltese culture for those Maltese emigrants who visit our islands during the summer months:
Maltese? … Yes and proud of it. This course
consists of six one hour sessions, once a week.
The main aim of the course is
to instil civic pride as well as to introduce
certain words in Maltese contributing to basic
literacy. After the sessions, the participants
will be able to recall
local traditions, musical instruments and
important events in local history. During the
sessions the participants will also discuss some
common trends in demography and prepare traditional Maltese recipes.
The course fee is 10€.
Those Maltese emigrants wishing
to participate, or the relatives of those
emigrants who will be visitng our islands during
the summer months, are urged to give their
relevant details to the Adult Learning Unit
within the Directorate for Lifelong Learning
Centre, Floriana (Tel. 2598 2444) by Wednesday
15th July, 2009.
