HSBC SPONSORS FLAMENCO PERFORMANCES AT THE
PALACE, VALLETTA
The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami and Mrs. Fenech
Adami were presented with a donation by HSBC to sponsor two flamenco
performances at The Palace Courtyard in Valletta, in aid of the Malta
Community Chest Fund. The donation was presented by Mr. James Dunbar
Cousin, HSBC’s Head of Commercial Banking.
This is the third consecutive year in which HSBC is supporting the Malta
Community Chest Fund’s summer fund raising cultural event. The
President expressed his gratitude towards HSBC for the continuous
support in sponsoring such events and stated that through such
donations, the Malta Community Chest Fund will be able to be beneficial
to those people in need and to those who seek for its assistance.
The President continued by saying that it will be a treat for all those
present to follow this Mediterranean spectacle in the historical venue
of The Palace.
This year’s performances, held under the distinguished patronage of The
President of Malta and Mrs. Fenech Adami, will be taking place on Friday
8 and Sunday 10 July. The activity entitled “Waking
up the Lady” is produced by the Alegria Dance Company which is led
by Rosana Maya.The
performance will draw on the ancient figure of the sleeping lady from
Malta’s Goddess culture for its inspiration. Performing with the
dancers will be guitarists Alex Mizzi, Pepe El Tiburon and also pianist
Geoffrey Tanti.
After the performance the public will also have the opportunity to visit
the State Rooms of The Palace, which will be open for viewing.
Tickets for these performances, which start at 8.30pm on both nights, are
