HSBC PRESENTS DONATION TO SPONSOR A
RECITAL BY GUITARIST SIMON SCHEMBRIIN AID OF THE MALTA COMMUNITY CHEST FUND
The
President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami was presented with a
donation to sponsor a recital by guitarist Simon Schembri in aid of the
Malta Community Chest Fund. The donation was presented by Mr. Martin
Wilkins, Chief Operating Officer of HSBC at the Palace, Valletta.
The President expressed his gratitude
towards the HSBC for sponsoring this event which will be held on
the 24th July 2004
. H. E. the President stated that Malta Community Chest Fund has become
a household word in Malta in which everybody looks up for its fund and
it has become very beneficial to those people in need and to those who
ask for its assistance.
President Fenech Adami continued by saying
that “listening to Simon Schembri in the pleasant atmosphere of
Verdala
Castle
will be a treat to all those present”.
Mr. Wilkins said that it is an honour for
HSBC to sponsor this entertaining event since it gives HSBC the
opportunity to help less privileged people in
Malta
.
The recital by Simon Schembri,
Malta
’s leading classic guitar player, will be held under the distinguish
patronage of H.E. the President of Malta and Mrs. Fenech Adami.
Simon Schembri started his studies at 6
and success led him to
London
and
Paris
at age 13 where the honours accumulated. He has been residing in
Paris
for the last 20 years. He has given 600 concerts worldwide, notably in
France
, but also in
England
,
Spain
,
Germany
and
Italy
.
After the
performance the public will also have the opportunity to visit various
chambers of the VerdalaCastle which will be open for viewing. For
