Mrs Violet de Marco, has today presented, on behalf of the Malta Community Chest Fund, financial aid, specialised apparatus and white goods to various Gozitan individuals and philanthropic institutions in need. The presentation was held this morning at Lourdes Home, Ghajnsielem, Gozo. The total sum presented today amounted to  LM 8,979.  

15 individuals and 9 philanthropic institutions have benefited from these donations. The former have received a total of LM 2,528 and the philanthropic institutions LM 6,451. Amongst those institutions and associations who received this help are:

Friends of the Sick and Elderly                                   LM 1000  
Can. GP Agius de Soldanis School                             LM 1000  
Dar Stella Maris                                                         LM 500  
Kummissjoni Emigranti u Rifugjati                                LM 300                                        

Other institutions are the Dominican Sisters, Lourdes Home, Saint Dominic Home and the Gozo General Hospital.  

As is now traditional during the Easter time, a number of Easter Eggs were also distributed to children from Gozitan philanthropic organisations.
