H.E.
The President of Malta and Mrs de Marco, have today presented, on behalf
of the Malta Community Chest fund, financial aid, specialised apparatus
and white goods to various individuals and philanthropic institutions in
need. The presentation was held this morning at The Palace, Valletta.
The
total sum presented this morning was LM 66,235.
Today,
152 individuals and 18 philanthropic institutions have benefited from
these donations. The former have received a total of LM 42,665 out of
which LM 25,389 in help for specialised apparatus. The specialised
apparatus includes specialised wheelchairs, special buggies, lifting
chairs, hoists and other equipment.
The
philanthropic institutions have received a total of LM 23,570 and
amongst those institutions and associations who received this help are:

the Blind, Grupp Solidarjetà Persuni bi Bzonnijiet Specjali, Mount
Carmel Hospital, Saint Joseph's Home, Zebbug and the Animal Rights
Group.
