THE MALTA COMMUNITY CHEST FUND PRESENTS DONATIONS TO PHILANTROPIC INSTITUTIONS
 

The President of Malta, H.E. Prof. Guido de Marco and Mrs de Marco, today presented, on behalf of the Malta Community Chest Fund, financial aid, specialised apparatus and white goods to various individuals and philanthropic institutions in need. The presentation was held at The Palace, Valletta. The total sum presented  was LM 34,952. 

136 individuals and 15 philanthropic institutions have benefited from these donations. The former have received a total of LM 28,859 out of which LM 13,822 in help for specialised apparatus. The specialised apparatus includes specialised wheelchairs, special buggies, lifting chairs, hoists and other equipment.  

The philanthropic institutions have received a total of LM 6,093 and among those institutions and associations who received this help are:

Other institutions are Dar Qalb ta Ġesu, Grupp Solidarjeta Persuni bi Bżonnijiet Specjali, Mid-Dlam għad-Dawl, Franciscan Sisters, Striving towards Ability not Disability and Ursoline Home. 

It is to be noted that throughout this current year 2003, the Malta Community Chest Fund has donated a total of Lm 406,500 to philanthropic organisations and individuals in need.
