MR. EDWIN VASSALLO, M.P.
Between 1993 and 1996
Edwin was a member of the Local Council of Mosta, and later was also elected
President of the College of Councillors within the Nationalist Party. He was
also member of the Administrative Council and the Executive of the Party. Edwin
was also elected member of the National Association of Local Councils. In 1996, Edwin
contested the General Elections for the first time in the interests of the
Nationalist Party and was elected. Between Member of Parliament, he was Part
spokesman on Local Councils. In 1998, Edwin was the co- founder of the
Secretariat for SME's within the Nationalist Party organisation. The Secretariat
was very instrumental in leading the Nationalist Party to its General Elections
in September 1998, where Edwin again contested the General Elections and was re-
elected. Following the
Nationalist Party victory at the General Elections of 1998, he was appointed
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry having a particular mission with respect
to the SME's. Edwin was re- elected for the third consecutive time in 2003, and
was appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic
Affairs. Following
a Cabinet reshuffle in March 2004, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for
Small Business and Self Employed in the Ministry for Competitiveness and
Communications. |
