Property by Government. This report deals with issues
concerning the valuation of Land acquired under the provisions of
the Land Acquisition Ordnance (LAO) and refers to the transfer of
plots of land under conditions of compulsory purchase.

Affairs
During period May - June 2000 the
National Audit Office carried out a performance audit of the
activities performed by the Department of Consumer Affairs,
pertaining to the Ministry of Economic Services. The audit
focused on the four main activities carried out by the Department
during 1999, namely: Investigating consumer complaints; Assisting
the Consumer Claims Tribunal; Running a Freephone 120 service; and
Promoting consumer awareness.

Performance Audit: Quality of Life for the
Elderly at St. Vincent de Paul Residence
This
audit which was undertaken during the period November 2003 to
November 2004 sought to assess the equity and transparency of the
admissions process to the Residence, and whether the residents
enjoyed an adequate quality of life through the provision of
holistic care. Three surveys were carried out concurrently
during the period 26 January - 14 February 2004.
